If you're like me and plan on having your car for another 10 years, it could very well be your last one. The sad thing is that there will still be people who own cars. Why? They pretty much work out of them, in which case it's justified. They want the "pleasure" of driving. And finally they need a status symbol in order to make themselves feel about their self. We all know these people. The people who wear a Rolex and then check the time on your phone. Douche galore!
Editor: Crass Cash Imagine a world in which you don't own a car. Now this isn't hard for people who live in say NYC or Chicago where population density prohibits it, but what about the every day suburbs? What if we lived in a self-driving car world where these cars constantly sat or drove to pick you up whenever and where ever you wanted? You could select the type of vehicle you wanted and it would automatically come to you for a marginal fee. The current ridiculous costs of insurance, gas, maintenance, and payments would all be gone. It would a taxi service, but much cheaper since no humans were needed. On top of this you're paying for your car to sit all day long. Like airplanes when, when they're not moving, they're costing you money. No more paying for parking!

Want to go to a bunch of free museums across the country?? If you have a Bank of America credit card they will allow the card holder free admission during the first full weekend of each month. So for instance this coming up full weekend of July 4th you can get into any of the above linked museums for free. Happy learning! Editor: Crass Cash LIBRARY: The ultimate freebie of unlimited information. That plus the internet. As my grandmother would say, "You can go anywhere with a book." Whether it's learning about complex financial derivatives or the complexities of the human body, it's all at the library. And if you can't find it there, look online. There are also a huge amount of periodicals that you receive for free (cumulative tax payer expense of course) going back for weeks or decades depending upon whether you want to dig out the microfiche.
SECOND LANGUAGE: Here's a life hack for you. Yes you can also go to the library and get all the books and tapes that you want on a foreign language, but you're most likely to quit after one boring session. Instead try the Tim Ferriss method of memorizing the 300 most common words used in the language. This is the 80/20 rule at its finest. When you're done with that, move on to the most common phrases, which will get you through most street conversations. Check out his method below and become a polyglot! http://fourhourworkweek.com/2014/03/21/how-to-learn-a-foreign-language-2/ EXERCISE: Push ups, crunches, wind sprints, riding your bike for errands, pull ups, walking, squats, etc. all all super FREE. Eating right makes up about 80% of a healthy body, so the rest of this will go a long long way to getting you in great shape for absolutely no money. TOASTMASTERS: Most cities seem to have a small chapter in their area now. There has never been a greater organization for teaching people to get over their fear of public speaking. Not only will it help you get over your fear, but it will help point how to become a much better one. I started this right after college when I was unemployed and I thought I was a pretty good speaker. Boy was I wrong! It's amazing how they can pick apart the areas where you need improvement. They're also wonderful at helping you learn to be a better conversationalist and helping you think on the spot. It's not completely free, but I can't think of anything that gets you a better bang for your buck. https://www.toastmasters.org/ FREE MBA: More and more universities are putting their courses online, especially Ivy League schools. Well now respected university is going to put their entire MBA curriculum online for anybody to take and they're not going to charge for it. The catch obviously is that you won't receive credit for the classes, but who cares you're there for the information, right? The school doing this is University of Illinois - Champagne, which is a great school and it's even better for the price. As hopefully you know I'm not a big fan of MBA programs because I think they're basic, not worth the price, and from my experience the most important thing to learn in school is accounting and law. With that said, this is fucking FREE and a great starting point if you know nothing about business. Enjoy! https://www.coursera.org/ |
