If you're like me and plan on having your car for another 10 years, it could very well be your last one. The sad thing is that there will still be people who own cars. Why? They pretty much work out of them, in which case it's justified. They want the "pleasure" of driving. And finally they need a status symbol in order to make themselves feel about their self. We all know these people. The people who wear a Rolex and then check the time on your phone. Douche galore!
Editor: Crass Cash Imagine a world in which you don't own a car. Now this isn't hard for people who live in say NYC or Chicago where population density prohibits it, but what about the every day suburbs? What if we lived in a self-driving car world where these cars constantly sat or drove to pick you up whenever and where ever you wanted? You could select the type of vehicle you wanted and it would automatically come to you for a marginal fee. The current ridiculous costs of insurance, gas, maintenance, and payments would all be gone. It would a taxi service, but much cheaper since no humans were needed. On top of this you're paying for your car to sit all day long. Like airplanes when, when they're not moving, they're costing you money. No more paying for parking!
