Never let a good crisis go to waste. Argentina is in the process of just such a crisis and their heartache is your gain. Their currency has dropped by 13% just over the past two days. And it now only costs 40% of what it did for an American to travel there vs a decade ago. And half of that if you go back a few more years!
This whole crisis is fueled by their inept politicians who refuse to face the music. Now this is just the official exchange rate. On top of this, since governments like this usually have currency restrictions, you could seek out the black market and get an even better rate. As in an additional 15% savings!
Note: don't feel bad about either of these advantages. By going there you're helping boost their currency and economy. And the black market develops because of hurtful and onerous economics forces that the government refuses to acknowledge. Tango anyone??
