There aren't any jobs? You're obviously not looking very far. That or else you're not willing to work for free in order to learn a new trade. All manner of construction is booming in Orlando!
It seems like every time I drive up to a new corner it looks different. "But I've never worked in construction." Then do it for free until you actually learn a skill. That ups your marketability and if they still don't want to hire you after that then work somewhere else. Subcontractors are so hard up for good workers they might be out of busines if they can't find some soon. General contractors just won't hire you if you can't keep up.
Although looking at the workforce who now occupy these jobs and how they almost all speak Spanish it makes me wonder if Americans just aren't willing to do these jobs. These jobs pay well over minimum wage and that's for people who speak little to no English and also could very well be here illegally. What are they will to pay for somebody who can speak American and actually not have to worry about you getting deported? Do what they tell you and show up on time...sober!
Once you figure out the job you can then start your own business as well. Start up costs for subcontractors is essentially nothing, requiring only some tools and a business license. Get on it because these guys are fucking expensive to hire!
