The Supreme Court recently ruled that inherited IRA's are not exempt from bankruptcy lawsuits. The Supreme Court took the case due to inconsistencies in lower court rulings. They finally decided (in my opinion correctly) that inherited retirement accounts could not be protected in bankruptcy proceeding like non-inherited retirement accounts are.
