BHAG UPDATE - Oct '14

This month was pretty abysmal for my BHAG since I was only able to save 52% of my take home pay.  Expenses were a little abnormally high because of some medical expenses, but the real culprit, once again, was because of my condo that has yet to find a renter.  It's the worst one for this to happen to since it has a mortgage and also brings in the most rent per rental. It's amazing how rentals have changed in that market in the past 7 months.  Another high rise in that area went up last November and it's causing me angst.  I need to find somebody at any price soon or else it needs to sell.  It's never really been a good rental and it was never meant to be, since I bought it in order to eventually live there.  Life happens and now I'm trying like hell to get somebody in there.

Expenses:
Entertainment - 0.7%
Transportation - 3.7%

Home - 4.93%
Mortgage - 25.35%
Gas - 6.11%
Eating out - 5.65%
Medical - 21.71
TV/Internet - 2.54%
Food - 6.66%

Oh to have both of my mortgages paid off.  What a wonderful life it would be! In addition to this I also have property tax do in November.  Technically I have until March to pay it, but with a 1% penalty each month it definitely makes sense to pay it asap.  It's going to be a big drain on cash flow and also my net worth, but thankfully it only comes around once a year.

This website was created due to the atrociously misguided financial advice that I've heard over the decades.  Financial freedom is not intellectually strenuous, but it takes discipline.
