Because I'm cheap, I screwed around with that thing myself for months. Cleaning it out, scrubbing it down, marketing it myself. In the end I might have saved myself $500 doing all that myself, but ended up wasting between $4-6k in lost rental revenue! Does that sound like a good idea to you??
I supposed hindsight is always 20/20, but what I should have done was paid somebody to get in there clean it out, clean it up, and then put out a big fat commission to a real estate agent to rent it for me. I would have saved myself a lot of time and also between $3,500 to $5,500. Fuck me!
Now the question is, will I learn my lesson?
