2. Go on a grocery store diet. Only go to the grocery store and do not eat out. Start today and save thousands over the year!
3. Go to the bank at lunch and ask to setup a savings account. Tell them that you want to start to automatically transfer money on a regular basis from your main checking account to this new account. $5, $10, $100 a week, it doesn’t matter how much, just make sure you do it! Be sure to tell this person that this is for an emergency fund, so the money at some point might need to be taken out quickly and that you won’t want to be penalized for it.
4. Gather up all of your stuff that you don’t use and either donate it to a charity (be sure to get a receipt for your taxes) or have a garage sale. This does 2 things: first, it puts money in your newly opened savings account; secondly, it reduces your future expenditures. Stuff costs you money whether you realize it or not.
